Big surprise. The last women´s game on Sunday night featured an unexpected result, as Slovakia lost to the USA. The best player of the game was Liane Dixon, who scored two goals and was the the most important factor in the American victory. After two games, Team USA is in second place of the women´s tournament with five points.

What are your feelings after your amazing performance?
I´m happy with two goals, but the main reason that we beat them was teamwork, with the focus on playing defence, shooting, and keeping the other team moving with fast passes. Not me.

Your first goal was really beautiful. Was that what you were trying to do?
No. I heard some teammates shout "Shoot!" so I shot. I was just the right person at the right time. It was very important to get the 2-0 lead, because the Slovaks slowed down a bit after our second goal.

Are you comfortable with the result?
Absolutely. It was definitely a team win! Now we need to focus on our next games. They will be hard too.

Were you surprised that Zuzana Tomčíková wasn´t in goal for the Slovaks?
Not really; I was focused on my team. It wasn´t that big a deal that she wasn´t in the net. Even without her, they were really dangerous.

What about the atmosphere? Do you like tough games like this?
The atmosphere was great! With so many fans from the USA and also from Slovakia. Tonight´s game definitely had lots of energy. I loved it.

This tournament in Pardubice is your first international event. How do you like the championship?
The city is so welcoming, beautiful and the Czech food is really good, but I haven´t tasted the beer yet. (laughter) It´s not in my thing, but maybe I´ll try it at the end of the tournament.
